Exploring the impact of the digital economy on green total factor productivity in China: A spatial econometric perspective

The digital economy is considered a driving force of green economic development. However, only few studies have examined the relationship between and total factor productivity (GTFP). According to principal component method super-efficient Slacks-based measure model, level GTFP were measured for China’s provinces based on panel data from 2013 2019. spatial econometric model was then used analyze effects GTFP. Results showed that overall maintained steady growth trend, with an average yearly 4.19%. Significant regional differences reflecting development characteristics eastern, central, western regions also observed. Most either high or low values both thereby revealing heterogeneity different cities. Durbin had significant direct effect (0.1498) spillover (0.3438) GTFP, latter being greater than former, this conclusion supported by robustness test. Technological innovation positively regulates contribution region’s negatively in neighboring regions.
